Born on July 8, 1943 in Salinas, California, George Culver (George Raymond Culver) played for the Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds, St. Louis Cardinals, Houston Astros, Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers over the course of his 9 year career. Culver broke into the bigs on September 7, 1966 with the Cleveland Indians, and put up a 3.96 ERA in 75 innings pitched in 1967, his rookie year.

Most people believe that George Culver's best season was 1968, when he posted a 3.22 ERA, won 11 games and struck out 114 batters.
