Born on January 26, 1904 in Orange, California, George Blaeholder (George Franklin Blaeholder) played for the St. Louis Browns, Philadelphia Athletics and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 11 year career. Blaeholder broke into the bigs on April 20, 1925 with the St. Louis Browns, and put up a 4.37 ERA in 214.1 innings pitched in 1928, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was George Blaeholder's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1929, when he posted a 4.18 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 72 batters. However, others believe that it was 1928, when he posted a 4.37 ERA, won 10 games and struck out 87 batters.
