George Benson (George Nathan Benson) was born on May 7, 1919 in Madison, Indiana. After going to high school at Hammond (IN), Benson attended Louisiana State University and Northwestern University. Benson made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1947 with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers for his entire 1 year career.
