George Atkins (George Arthur Atkins) was born on April 10, 1932 in Birmingham, Alabama. After going to high school at Shades Valley (Birmingham, AL), Atkins attended Auburn University. Atkins made his professional debut in the NFL in 1955 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions for his entire 1 year career.
