Gene Trosch (Eugene L. Trosch) was born on June 7, 1945 in Stuebenville, Ohio. After going to high school at Madonna (Weirton, WV), Trosch attended the University of Miami. Trosch made his professional debut in the AFL in 1967 with the Kansas City Chiefs. He played for the Kansas City Chiefs for his entire 2 year career.
