Gene Steere (Frederick Eugene Steere) was born on August 16, 1872 in South Scituate, Rhode Island. He made his Major League debut on August 29, 1894 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Steere played for the Pittsburgh Pirates for his entire 1 year career.
