Born on August 12, 1973 in Lima, Ohio, Gene Stechschulte (Gene Urban Stechschulte) played for the St. Louis Cardinals for his entire 3 year career. Stechschulte broke into the bigs on April 20, 2000 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 3.86 ERA in 70 innings pitched in 2001, his rookie year.
