Gene Sanders (Eugene Sanders) was born on November 10, 1956 in New Orleans, Louisiana. After going to high school at West Jefferson (Harvey, LA), Sanders attended Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University. Sanders made his professional debut in the NFL in 1979 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for his entire 7 year career.
