Gene Pepper (Eugene Francis Pepper) was born on September 22, 1927 in Overland, Missouri. After going to high school at McBride (St. Louis, MO), Pepper attended the University of Missouri. Pepper made his professional debut in the NFL in 1950 with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Washington Redskins and Baltimore Colts over the course of his 5 year career.

Most people believe that 1950 was Gene Pepper's best year.
