Gene Moriarity (Eugene John Moriarity) was born on January 5, 1865 in Holyoke, Massachusetts. He made his Major League debut on June 18, 1884 for the Indianapolis Blues. In 1892, his rookie year, he hit .175 with 3 home runs and 19 RBI. Moriarity played for the Indianapolis Blues, Boston Beaneaters, Detroit Wolverines and St. Louis Perfectos over the course of his 3 year career.

  • Sold by Indianapolis (Western) to Detroit Wolverines with Chub Collins, Jim Donnelly, Jim Keenan, Larry McKeon, Dan Casey, Sam Crane, Deacon McGuire and Sam Thompson for $4000 (only $2000 paid due to dispute) (June 15, 1885).
