Gene Michael (Eugene Richard Michael) was born on June 2, 1938 in Kent, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on July 15, 1966 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1967, his rookie year, he hit .202 with 0 home runs and 7 RBI. Michael played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 10 year career.
