Born on December 5, 1964 in Sebring, Florida, Gene Harris (Tyrone Eugene Harris) played for the Seattle Mariners, Montreal Expos, San Diego Padres, Detroit Tigers, Philadelphia Phillies and Baltimore Orioles over the course of his 7 year career. Harris broke into the bigs on April 5, 1989 with the Seattle Mariners, and put up a 5.91 ERA in 53.1 innings pitched in 1989, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Gene Harris's best season was 1993, when he posted a 3.03 ERA and notched 23 saves.
