Gene Gossage (Ezra Eugene Gossage) was born on February 17, 1935 in Columbia, Tennessee. After going to high school at Wadsworth (OH), Gossage attended Northwestern University and the University of Cincinnati. Gossage made his professional debut in the NFL in 1960 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles for his entire 3 year career.

Most people believe that 1961 was Gene Gossage's best year.
