Gene Cook (Eugene Cook) was born on January 11, 1934 in Greenfield, Tennessee. After going to high school at West (Cleveland, OH), Cook attended the University of Toledo. Cook made his professional debut in the NFL in 1959 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions for his entire 1 year career.
