Gene Breen (Joseph Eugene Breen) was born on June 21, 1941 in Crafton, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Mount Lebanon (PA), Breen attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute. Breen made his professional debut in the NFL in 1964 with the Green Bay Packers. He played for the Los Angeles Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers over the course of his 5 year career.
