Gene Bailey (Arthur Eugene Bailey) was born on November 25, 1893 in Pearsall, Texas. He made his Major League debut on September 10, 1917 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1920, his rookie year, he hit .208 with 0 home runs and 5 RBI. Bailey played for the Philadelphia Athletics, Boston Braves, Boston Red Sox and Brooklyn Robins over the course of his 5 year career.
