Gene Augusterfer (Eugene Francis Augusterfer) was born on October 4, 1914 in Washington, District Of Columbia. After going to high school at St. John's (Washington, DC), Augusterfer attended Catholic College. Augusterfer made his professional debut in the NFL in 1935 with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played for the Pittsburgh Pirates for his entire 1 year career.
