Gayle Knief (Knief. Gayle C.) was born on December 28, 1946 in Denison, Iowa. After going to high school at Schlewig (IA), Knief attended Morningside College. Knief made his professional debut in the NFL in 1970 with the Boston Patriots. He played for the Boston Patriots for his entire 1 year career.
