Gavvy Cravath (Clifford Carlton Cravath) was born on March 23, 1881 in Poway, California. He made his Major League debut on April 18, 1908 for the Boston Red Sox. In 1908, his rookie year, he hit .256 with 1 home run and 34 RBI. Cravath played for the Boston Red Sox, Washington Senators, Chicago White Sox and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that Gavvy Cravath's best season was 1913, when he slugged 19 home runs, hit for a .341 average and knocked in 128 runs.
