Gary Thomasson (Gary Leah Thomasson) was born on July 29, 1951 in San Diego, California. He made his Major League debut on September 5, 1972 for the San Francisco Giants. In 1973, his rookie year, he hit .285 with 4 home runs and 30 RBI. Thomasson played for the San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers over the course of his 9 year career.

Most people believe that Gary Thomasson's best season was 1977, when he slugged 17 home runs and knocked in 71 runs.
