Born on April 21, 1937 in Grove City, Pennsylvania, Gary Peters (Gary Charles Peters) played for the Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 14 year career. Peters broke into the bigs on September 10, 1959 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 2.33 ERA in 243 innings pitched in 1963, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Gary Peters's best season was 1963, when he posted a 2.33 ERA, won 19 games and struck out 189 batters.

  • Traded by Chicago White Sox with Don Pavletich to Boston Red Sox in exchange for Syd O'Brien and Billy Farmer (December 13, 1969); Billy Farmer refused to report to Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox sent Gerry Janeski (March 9, 1970) to complete trade.
