Gary Lane (Gary Owen Lane) was born on December 21, 1942 in Wood River, Illinois. After going to high school at Wood River (IL), Lane attended the University of Missouri. Lane made his professional debut in the NFL in 1966 with the Cleveland Browns. He played for the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants over the course of his 3 year career.

Most people believe that 1967 was Gary Lane's best year.
