Born on October 6, 1946 in Phoenix, Arizona, Gary Gentry (Gary Edward Gentry) played for the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves over the course of his 7 year career. Gentry broke into the bigs on April 10, 1969 with the New York Mets, and put up a 3.43 ERA in 233.2 innings pitched in 1969, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Gary Gentry's best season was 1969, when he posted a 3.43 ERA, won 13 games and struck out 154 batters.
