Garry Templeton (Garry Lewis Templeton) was born on March 24, 1956 in Lockney, Texas. He made his Major League debut on August 9, 1976 for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1976, his rookie year, he hit .291 with 1 home run and 17 RBI. Templeton played for the St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Padres and New York Mets over the course of his 16 year career.

Most people believe that Garry Templeton's best season was 1979, when he stole 26 bases, hit for a .314 average and knocked in 62 runs.
