Garry Hancock (Ronald Garry Hancock) was born on January 23, 1954 in Tampa, Florida. He made his Major League debut on July 16, 1978 for the Boston Red Sox. In 1983, his rookie year, he hit .273 with 8 home runs and 30 RBI. Hancock played for the Boston Red Sox and Oakland Athletics over the course of his 6 year career.
