Garrett Wolfe
[edit] BiographyGarrett Wolfe (born August 17, 1984 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American football running back for the Northern Illinois University football team. In 2004, he ran for 1,656 yards. He finished the 2005 season with 1,580 rushing yards. Currently, after six games this season, Garrett has 1,343 rushing yards on 156 attempts(8.6 ypc). He is garnering some talk as a possible Heisman trophy candidate for the 2006 season. Garrett played high school football at Holy Cross High School in Chicago. Garrett Wolfe is notable because he is considered one of the three best running backs in college football this year. He tied an NCAA record on 9/30/06 by becoming the eighth running back in NCAA history run for 1,000 within the first five games of a season. He is also a projected draft pick for the upcoming NFL draft. He is currently leading the NCAA in rushing with 1,343 rushing yards in six games along with 13 touchdowns. Earlier this year, Garrett became the second leading rusher in NIU history. He is the nation's Division I rushing leader and he ran for a career-high 353 yards and three touchdowns Saturday night (September 30, 2006) as Northern Illinois beat Ball State University 40-28.
