Garrard Ramsey (Garrard S. Ramsey) was born on March 16, 1920 in Townsend, Tennessee. After going to high school at Knoxville (TN), Ramsey attended The College of William & Mary. Ramsey made his professional debut in the NFL in 1946 with the Chicago Cardinals. He played for the Chicago Cardinals for his entire 6 year career.

Most people believe that 1947 was Garrard Ramsey's best year, as he picked off 4 passes.
