Garnett Leaving Timberwolves?

It's holiday gift giving time, though NBA teams shouldn't expect anything special now. Oh, sure, plenty are looking, but it's rare for deals to be made way before the trading deadline in February. Rules on free agents limit deals until after Dec. 15 or until three months after the signing. So most deals can't even be made yet. Plus, the standard operating procedure — or also often false belief — is that the closer to the deadline the better deal a team might get.

Kevin Garnett has a lot of class. Otherwise, he'd be screaming for a trade by now. I hope he gets out of Minnesota so he can play on a decent team before his career is over.

Who will give up what it will take to get him? He will fundamentally change ANY teams he gets traded to. Basketballwise and more importantly in today's NBA, financially... I don't think he's getting dealt this year.

KG's not going anywhere. If he wanted out, he could get a trade in a heartbeat. But people are saying that he's so methodical in his habits that a new city would throw his entire game off. I'm not sure how true that is (after all, he is one of the 20 greatest players of all-time), but he clearly doesn't want to leave Minny, for whatever reasons. The food, perhaps?

He wont leave, he has a team that is being built around him, all that needs to happen is Kevin McKahle needs to be fired, and someone who knows how to be a GM needs to take over. He has 2 young players in McCants and Foye that will help them make a run, and once McCants comes back from injury, if he is productive, the wolves are a contender, if not, it's back to the lottery. Also, the only actually proposal(s) I have heard out here are:
  • PHX trades Barbosa and Stoudamare/Marion for KG, Marko Jaric, and most likely a 1st round draft pick
  • CHI trades Gordon and Tyrus Thomas for KG and a player to be named
Neither of those trades have been actual proposals, just speculation. Also, no one would have the guts to pull either of those trades

actually, the CHI trade doesn't have a player to be named, it involves about 4-5 other players total from both teams.

I think they should fire Kevin McHale also.......he has taken a team that had been a playoff team to a mediocre team in just 2 years.
