Garland Lawing (Garland Frederick Lawing) was born on August 29, 1918 in Gastonia, North Carolina. He made his Major League debut on May 29, 1946 for the New York Giants. Lawing played for the New York Giants and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 1 year career.
