Born on October 16, 1897 in Heron Lake, Minnesota, Garland Buckeye (Garland Maiers Buckeye) played for the Washington Senators, Cleveland Indians and New York Giants over the course of his 5 year career. Buckeye broke into the bigs on June 19, 1918 with the Washington Senators, and put up a 3.65 ERA in 153 innings pitched in 1925, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Garland Buckeye's best season was 1925, when he posted a 3.65 ERA and won 13 games.
