Born on June 10, 1900 in Snow Camp, North Carolina, Garland Braxton (Edgar Garland Braxton) played for the Boston Braves, New York Yankees, Washington Senators, Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 10 year career. Braxton broke into the bigs on May 27, 1921 with the Boston Braves, and put up a 3.38 ERA in 66.2 innings pitched in 1922, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Garland Braxton's best season was 1927, when he posted a 2.95 ERA, won 10 games, notched 13 saves and struck out 96 batters.
