Gar Leaf (Garfield Robert Leaf) was born on May 26, 1902 in Waukegan, Illinois. After going to high school at Highland Park (IL), Leaf attended Lake Forest College and Syracuse University. Leaf made his professional debut in the NFL in 1926 with the Louisville Colonels. He played for the Louisville Colonels for his entire 1 year career.
