Gammons Says NL West Pitching Will Improve Division

ESPN baseball savant Peter Gammons predicts that an infusion of some good young players, along with some good old pitchers, will make the NL West better top to bottom this year. In a column in the Feb. 12 edition of Baseball America, Gammons forecasts better division play sure to beat two years ago, when San Diego won the division with a less than impressive 82-80 record. He cites last year’s NL West having 3 of the 6 top NL ERA’s, and the pitchers’ parks, as a sign of things to come in 2007.
