The Philadelphia Flyers are in a 2-0 hole Thursday night at the Bell Centre in Montreal, after surrendering two late - period power play goals to the Canadiens. Goals by Letondresse (8, 16:42) and Rivet (4, 17:45) have the Flyers fighting from behind to snap a franchise - high eight game winless streak.
Earlier in the period, Philadelphia wasted a two-man advantage, as well as a penalty shot awarded to Flyers' skater Mike Knuble who was interfered with during a breakaway toward the Habs' net.
Philidalphia goalie Anterro Nittymaki weathered 15 minutes of Montreal artillery before surrendering the first goal to Letondresse with just :04 left in Montreal's first two man advantage of the period. He ended the period stopping 16 of 18 Canadeiens' shots. Montreal went 2 for 5 in power play attempts in the first, and will start the second with a one man advantage.
