Fritz Roessler (Frederick Roessler) was born on July 20, 1898 in , WI. After going to high school at North Division (Milwaukee, WI), Roessler attended Marquette University. Roessler made his professional debut in the NFL in 1922 with the Racine Legion. He played for the Racine Legion and Milwaukee Badgers over the course of his 4 year career.
