Fritz Pollard

Fritz Pollard (Frederick Douglass Pollard) was born on January 27, 1894 in Rogers Park, Illinois. After going to high school at Lane Tech (Chicago, IL), Pollard attended Brown University. Pollard made his professional debut in the APFA in 1920 with the Akron Pros. He played in the APFA for 2 years, playing for the Akron Pros the entire time. Pollard also played in the NFL for 4 years, playing for the Akron Indians, Providence Steam Roller, Hammond Pros and Milwaukee Badgers over the course of his 4 year NFL career.
Most people believe that 1920 was Fritz Pollard's best year, as he ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
