Fritz Knothe (Wilfred Edgar Knothe) was born on May 1, 1903 in Passaic, New Jersey. He made his Major League debut on April 12, 1932 for the Boston Braves. In 1932, his rookie year, he hit .238 with 1 home run and 36 RBI. Knothe played for the Boston Braves and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 2 year career.
