Friday Night Lights follows the journey of a high school football team to greatness. The team is the Permian Panthers, and the town is Odessa, Texas. The movie focuses on the town's absolute obsession with the team and how the team must live up to all of the pressures surrounding them. The Panthers get a hard break when All-World running back Boobie Miles shatters his knee in the first game, but they rally to make the playoffs. There, the Panthers make it all the way to the championship game before losing. The movie is based on the award-winning book with the same title.
