A look at the sports week's biggest losers…
by Christof

Welcome to another edition of the Friday Fryer, where we take a look at who was the sports world's biggest idiot this week. Many New York Mets fans may expect to see there team on this list. However, like losing to the Phillies yet again, they also lost out on a nomination. So without further ado, let’s go take a look at our three finalists and, of course, the person or team who is being dipped into the Fryer....

THE FINALISTS
Michigan and Notre Dame Football
Both Notre Dame and Michigan hold records of 0-2 in 2007. This is the first time ever that both of these teams have started 0-2 in the same year. Luckily, only one will start 0-3. Why? Because they have the honor of facing each other in the latest Toilet Bowl. This one is set for tomorrow at the Big House.

Both Michigan and Notre Dame have played terrible this year. I mean, high school level football level. And to think, Michigan was ranked #5 to start the season. You got to love these stupid pre-season polls.

ABC will be broadcasting this disgrace tomorrow. I expect Michigan to win. This is not saying much. The viewers will be the real losers no matter what. Thus, both Michigan and Notre Dame get a Friday Fryer nomination.

OJ Simpson
Yo ho! The Juice is back in the news. And from the looks of things, he wanted to do the slice again. The more things change, the more things stay the same!

This week, Simpson has been accused of stealing back his old personal items. His suit he wore when he was acquitted of murder. Autographed stuff as well was taken back. Mr. Simpson did not pay for the return of this property.

Instead, it is alleged that him and his posse attacked the man who had the goods in a Las Vegas hotel room. Lucky it was not LA, or we may be about to go through a second Simpson murder trial.

OJ Simpson was once a role model. A good role model. Now, he is still a role model, of what not to become in your life. For this, OJ gets his first Friday Fryer nomination. Anyone want to bet that this will not be his last?

Greg Oden
The man-child basketball player from Ohio State was the first overall selection in the 2007 NBA Draft by Portland. He was suppose to be the next great big man in the NBA. This week, he had major knee surgery.

This knee surgery included micro-facture. For a big man, this is bad news. It is being reported that Oden will miss his entire first season in the NBA. In reality, if this surgery fails, he may never play in the NBA.

Oden was injured was practicing. He is considered to be a good guy off of the court. Hence, it is truly sad to see him hurt as badly as he is. The loss, however, of the entire season earns Oden a Friday Fryer nomination.

AND THE LOSER IS . . .
Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots
Busted!

Cheaters never win in the long term.

This is what the Patriots are learning this week. The Pats were found to be recording the signals of their opponents. This week, it was the New York Jets. This, however, was not the first time that the Pats have done this.

The NFL is clear. A team cannot record another team’s signals. If you use any sort of technology, you are breaking this rule. The NFL, in a September 6th memo reminded all NFL teams that this is illegal.

Nevertheless, the Pats, under Bill Belichick ignored this warning and continued filming. And guess what, the Pats were busted. Big time.

The NFL laid down the law on the Pats. The team and Belichick were heavily fined. The Pats will also likely lose their first round pick in next year’s NFL Drafy (they will still have one via trade.) Personally, this punishment is too lenient.

Belichick, in my opinion, should have been suspended. He was not. I cannot suspend him. However, I can award him and the Patriots the Friday Fryer Chair.

Until next Friday, AMF!

As a Patriots fan, this one really wasn't even close. Regardless of my opinions on the case, they clearly lost more than anyone this week.

Are you insinuating that he is one of those guys who doesn't even get one of those "participation" trophies?

Back in the day, those were called "Most Improved" and in reality were anything but.

I remember when I was playing Little League. We had a kid on the team who was literally afraid of the ball. When he was in the batter's box, he would bail out no matter where the pitch was. Showed up for like 2 games. When we won the league, his mother called asking where his trophy was. rofl
