a look at the sports week's biggest losers by Christof
|
Welcome to another fun-loving edition of the Friday Fryer, where we take a look at who was the sports' world's biggest idiot this week. Without further ado, let's go take at our three finalists and, of course, the person or team being dipped into the Fryer....
THE FINALISTS
| Criag James
|
| This ABC college football talking head has had an issue with Penn State and Joe Paterno for years. It seems as though this sock puppet was on an undefeated SMU team that finished behind a 1-loss Penn State team for the national championship in the early 1980’s.
So doe James blame the system for not having a national playoff for the championship. Nope, he projects his anger and hate toward Penn State and Joe Paterno.
The low point came during the halftime show on ABC, when James called JoePa an “old fart.” Nice going Craig, call what may be the greatest college football head coach an old fart. Oh yeah, what exactly have you done in your career. Surprisingly, I cannot think of anything.
ABC and ESPN, is getting worse and worse. I am getting to the point where I am going to turn off the television and sports. If I want excitement, I will enter the world of politics. Sure, it is a blood sport, but at least I will have an impact, and will have fun doing so.

| Philadelphia Flyers
|
| Wow, this team is bad, real bad. I mean, they play hockey like the Republicans campaigned this year - and most of you know where the Republicans are today.
At 3-11-1, this team is on pace to win roughly 17 games for the entire season. The front office is a mess. The coach is trying to use a system that the players do not want to follow. The players do not care and lack real talent.
They are getting beat by good teams, average teams, and bad teams. And come tomorrow, they play the Buffalo Sabres. You know, the team that beat the Flyers 9-1 a few weeks back.
For all of this, the Flyers get another nomination for the Chair.

| Oakland Raiders
|
| Speaking of bad teams and organizations – how about them Oakland Raiders! Is this the worse NFL team this decade or what? I mean, where is the talent? Where is the heart? I do not know if the Raiders have a single player with talent and heart.
I am sure that Brady Quinn is loving the idea of playing for Oakland next year. For the Raiders fan out there, I feel sorry for you if you do end up with Quinn, for I believe he is mostly hype and not much else.

AND THE LOSER IS . . .
| The NFL and ESPN
|
| Monday Night Football moved from ABC to ESPN for the 2006 season. In reality, MNF, with the schedule that the NFL provided, should have been moved to a dog kennel. I mean, why on earth is the Raiders playing on Monday night. Especially the day after NBC had a Sunday Night Game between the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts.
So now becomes homework for night for a fella who is counting down the last days of law school. Once it was night to watch football, now it is a night to try and understand the UCC.
And because of this, the NFL and ESPN get the Chair for this week. Until next Friday, AMF.
