Fred Williamson (Frederick Williamson) was born on March 5, 1938 in Gary, Indiana. After going to high school at Froebel (Gary, IN), Williamson attended Northwestern University. Williamson made his professional debut in the NFL in 1960 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers the entire time. Williamson also played in the AFL for 7 years, playing for the Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs over the course of his 7 year AFL career.

Most people believe that 1962 was Fred Williamson's best year, as he picked off 8 passes and ran back an interception for a touchdown.
