Fred Smoot (Fredrick D. Smoot) was born on April 17, 1979 in Jackson, Mississippi. After going to high school at Provine (Jackson, MS), Smoot attended Hinds Community College and Mississippi State University. Smoot made his professional debut in the NFL in 2001 with the Washington Redskins. He has played for the Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings over the course of his 6 year career.
