Fred Smerlas

Fred Smerlas (Frederick C. Smerlas) was born on April 8, 1957 in Waltham, Massachusetts. After going to high school at Waltham (MA), Smerlas attended Boston College. Smerlas made his professional debut in the NFL in 1979 with the Buffalo Bills. He played for the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers over the course of his 14 year career.
Most people believe that 1983 was Fred Smerlas's best year, as he recorded 6 sacks.
