Fred Small (John Fredrick Small) was born on July 15, 1963 in Los Angeles, California. After going to high school at John C. Fremont (Los Angeles, CA), Small attended the University of Washington. Small made his professional debut in the NFL in 1985 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for his entire 1 year career.
