Fred Sheehan (Frederic W. Sheehan) was born on December 21, 1902 in Abington, Massachusetts. After going to high school at St. John's Prep (Danvers, MA), Sheehan attended Georgetown University. Sheehan made his professional debut in the NFL in 1925 with the Providence Steam Roller. He played for the Providence Steam Roller for his entire 1 year career.
