Fred Rothwell (Donald Fred Rothwell) was born on October 18, 1952 in Lafayette, Indiana. After going to high school at P.K. Yonge (Gainesville, FL), Rothwell attended Kansas State University. Rothwell made his professional debut in the NFL in 1974 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions for his entire 1 year career.
