Fred Putzier (Frederick Jerome Putzier) was born on June 11, 1899 in Bird Island, Minnesota. After going to high school at Bird Island (MN), Putzier attended St. Olaf College. Putzier made his professional debut in the NFL in 1924 with the Minneapolis Marines. He played for the Minneapolis Marines for his entire 1 year career.
