Fred Mcneill (Frederick Arnold McNeill) was born on May 6, 1952 in Durham, North Carolina. After going to high school at Baldwin Park (CA), Mcneill attended the University of California - Los Angeles. Mcneill made his professional debut in the NFL in 1974 with the Minnesota Vikings. He played for the Minnesota Vikings for his entire 12 year career.
Most people believe that 1978 was Fred Mcneill's best year, as he recovered 6 opponents fumbles.
