Born on June 27, 1915 in Williams, Oklahoma, Fred Martin (Fred Turner Martin) played for the St. Louis Cardinals for his entire 3 year career. Martin broke into the bigs on April 21, 1946 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 2.44 ERA in 70 innings pitched in 1949, his rookie year.
