Fred Manrique (Fred Eloy (Reyes) Manrique) was born on November 5, 1961 in Ciudad Bolivar, Bolivar (Venezuela). He made his Major League debut on August 23, 1981 for the Toronto Blue Jays. In 1987, his rookie year, he hit .258 with 4 home runs and 29 RBI. Manrique played for the Toronto Blue Jays, Montreal Expos, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago White Sox, Texas Rangers, Minnesota Twins and Oakland Athletics over the course of his 9 year career.

Most people believe that Fred Manrique's best season was 1989, when he hit for a .294 average and knocked in 52 runs.
